First, thank you for being willing to share your experience with us.

Our goal is simple: have a short, comfortable conversation about your experience working with our team, the solutions you use, and the impact they have had on your business.

This is not a scripted testimonial.
We want the final video to sound like you because your firsthand experience is what makes it valuable. We’ll help you prepare, but we’re never trying to put words in your mouth.
Client Testimonial Cheat Sheet
What to Expect
Total Time
20–30 Minutes
Interview
Relaxed 10–15 Minute Q&A
Final Video
Approximately 2 Minutes
1 Before We Meet

We’ll do a little preparation on our side so you don’t have to.

Before the interview, we’ll connect with members of your Client Services team to better understand the work we’ve done together, the solutions you use, and any successes or examples that may be worth discussing.

From there, we’ll prepare a short list of potential questions and talking points for you to review ahead of time.

✓ References, not a script.
We understand that it can be difficult to remember every initiative, feature, campaign, or result on the spot. The talking points are simply there to refresh your memory.

Use what is helpful, ignore what isn’t, and always answer in your own words.

2 Joining the Interview

The actual interview is easy and usually takes about 10–15 minutes.

Leo Gerardi, our Director of Marketing, will lead the conversation and ask the questions. Think of it more like a relaxed Q&A than a formal recording session.

Recording Platform
How Riverside Works
We use Riverside to capture high-quality video and audio directly from your computer. There’s no complicated production setup required.
Step 1 Open Your Private Link We’ll send you a Riverside link before the interview. Open it from your laptop or desktop when it’s time to record.
Step 2 Check Your Camera & Microphone Riverside will walk you through selecting your camera and microphone and making sure everything is working.
Step 3 Join the Conversation Once everything looks good, join the studio and we’ll take it from there.

Riverside records your video and audio locally on your device while uploading the files in the background. This allows us to capture a cleaner recording than a standard video call, even if your internet connection briefly fluctuates.

For the Best Recording
💻 Use a Laptop or Desktop A computer gives us the most stable recording and makes it easier to keep your camera positioned consistently.
🎙 Prioritize Good Audio A quiet room is more important than having a professional microphone. Headphones or earbuds can also help reduce echo.
☀ Face Your Light Source A window or lamp in front of you works well. Try to avoid having a bright window directly behind you.
◉ Keep the Camera Near Eye Level A laptop stand or a few books underneath your computer can make a noticeable difference.
No professional setup required. We’ll take a moment before recording to make sure everything looks and sounds good. You don’t need special equipment or a studio.
3 What We’ll Talk About

Every conversation is a little different. We’ll tailor the questions based on your experience and the work we’ve done together.

We may ask about things like:

→ How you originally heard about us or started working with our team
→ What initially appealed to you about our company or platform
→ Challenges you were looking to solve
→ Solutions, features, or strategies that have been particularly valuable
→ Specific successes or results you’ve experienced
→ What your experience has been like working with our team
Please answer in complete sentences. Leo’s questions will be edited out of the finished video, so your answers need to make sense on their own.
For Example
Instead of: “Definitely.”
Try: “The platform has definitely helped us…”
✓ We can do as many takes as we need. If you stumble, want to rephrase something, remember another example, or simply want another shot at an answer, we’ll redo it. That’s completely normal.
4 What Happens After the Interview?

We’ll take the 10–15 minute conversation and edit it into a much shorter finished testimonial—typically around two minutes.

The final video will focus on the strongest parts of your story: how you discovered us, what initially stood out, the challenges you were trying to solve, and the successes or solutions that have mattered most to your business.

We may also create shorter clips from the conversation when appropriate.

Authentic is better than perfect. We aren’t trying to manufacture a marketing pitch. The goal is to capture your genuine perspective in a way other clients can relate to.
5 What We Won’t Ask You to Share

We understand that some of the strategies, processes, and results we’ve developed together can be a competitive advantage for your business.

You do not need to give away your playbook. We’re not looking for sensitive business information, proprietary strategies, confidential details, or anything else you would be uncomfortable having another company hear.

The purpose of the testimonial is not to take what is working for your business and hand it to a competitor.

We simply want other clients who are considering or beginning to adopt our software to hear directly from someone who has actually used it. Your perspective can give them confidence in what is possible without revealing the details that make your strategy unique.

6 Quick Checklist Before Recording
✓  Review the talking points we send, but don’t memorize them.
✓  Think about one or two experiences or successes that stand out.
✓  Choose a quiet room with limited interruptions.
✓  Position yourself with good light in front of you.
✓  Close unnecessary programs or browser tabs.
✓  Use headphones or earbuds if they help reduce echo.
✓  Talk the way you normally would. Natural works better than overly polished.

We’ll handle the preparation, questions, recording, and editing so you can focus on sharing your experience.

20–30 Minutes Total
Including a quick walkthrough, the 10–15 minute Q&A, and any additional takes or finishing touches.
That’s It. We’ll Take Care of the Rest.
Thank you again for being willing to participate. We genuinely appreciate your time and the opportunity to share your story.
